Is floyd mayweather any different than benard hopkins?

alot of people say that mayweather is a racist. I remember bernard hopkins talking crap to joe calzaghe saying "i would never lose to a white boy, i would never let a white boy beat me" and i also remember when he threw the puerto rican flag on the floor and stepped on it when he was gonna fight felix trinidad, mayweather hasnt done any of this and yet people seem to rip him, is it just that people dont like him? i kinda sense its just hate from people cuz he's undefeated and people want to see him lose, the same way people want pacquiao to lose, the mayweather and pacquiao fans that go back and forth are just childish, in other words, is floyd mayweather really that bad?
