Bangkok travel question?

on oct 8 i travel to bangkok to fly from suvarnabhumi airport,to save money i will go by bus please tell me which of these is closer to the airport khao san road or . chit bus station,how much would a taxi be is there a cheaper way of getting to the airport i am coming from chiang mai.
