Can anyone help with writers block? idk how to start the essay.?

i have to write an essay on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This is a summer project, so no help from teachers. It has to be in MLA format, which i think i got down. But it says all the info we have to put into the essay. Author's name&death, charaters, setting, summary, ext.. I have no clue how to start it or anything. Am I suppost to just go in and jump right into it? help! (:
