Getting rid of the pacifier?

My daughter is 14 months old, and I have been slowly trying to get rid of her pacifier I have been reducing it just for her nap times and bed time. Yesterday we lost the last one we had so I am going to try my hardest to not buy anymore and wean her. How long does it typically take for children to forget about it? She hasn't had it since yesterday.
