How to help anxiety without meds?
I know what you mean. I've been on along journey through about every medicine known. If there is a magic trick to overcoming anxiety, let me know. I think a lot of these 'natural' cures are a bunch of bunk. Let's face it. I n our society people will try to sell you anything and everything. The doctors and drug companies are no exception. One thing I am convinced of is, that anxiety can be very real, and not something that is easily fixed. If you have a type of anxiety that responds to the magic wands, then I'm glad for you. But, if you have the type, like me, where nothing works (meditation, spirituality, natural cures, counseling, and medications), then nothing anyone or any doctor can say or do is going to work. I'm not issuing you a 'death sentence' by saying this. But, no one, even to this day, wants to take part in their failure to solve my anxiety. As far as Paxil goes, it was the very first drug pushed on me. That was 15 years ago. There is one little pill you may really want to try, Lyrica. My doctor gave it to me for pain, ociated with Multiple Sclerosis. It turn out that it also drove back my anxiety 'big time'. It is only approved in Europe for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I had to tell my psychiatrist about it, so now he gives it out to some patients. I actually got some good relief, that I was searching for a long time. Not every story is perfect. The anxiety is slowly coming back, but I've had two good years that allowed me to examine myself in a better light. I hope all works out for you.
